Terms of use

Last updated 27 October 2026

Kin is licensed to you under Apple's Standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement (the Standard EULA). Those are Kin's terms of use: read the Standard EULA on apple.com.

This page explains, in plain words, how Kin Pro, the free trial and the free plan work. It doesn't add to or change the Standard EULA.

Who provides Kin

Kin is made and provided by Mike Mengell, a sole trader in Australia ("we" on this page). You can reach us at support@kin-app.com.au.

Kin Pro subscriptions

The free trial

Every new Kin account gets Kin Pro free for 7 days from when you first sign in. You don't buy anything or give any card details for it, so there's nothing to cancel: when the 7 days end, your account moves to the free plan unless you've subscribed.

The free plan

Kin is free for up to 10 people. The limit stops you adding more people on the free plan; it never removes anyone you already have, and it never limits what syncs to your account.

Refunds and your rights

Apple handles payments for Kin, so refund requests go to Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com. Nothing on this page, or in the Standard EULA, limits your rights under the Australian Consumer Law or other consumer laws that apply to you.

AI features

Kin Pro's tidied notes, the people and details it picks out, its conversation openers and its screenshot readings are written by AI (Claude, made by Anthropic). They can be wrong. Kin always shows you what it made before saving it, so check it first, and read an opener before you send it.

Your content

What you put in Kin stays yours. We use it only to run Kin for you, as the privacy policy explains. Kin holds notes about people in your life, so please keep them to things you'd be comfortable with that person knowing you remember.

Changes

If Kin's terms change, we'll update this page and the date at the top. A change to the Standard EULA is Apple's, and is published on apple.com.
